Search Queries
When you type a name, location, or similar search term into a sponsored search box, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Portsmouth City Inmate Population does not keep its own separate log of those search terms.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, we may keep your name, email address, and message content long enough to respond and manage the request. We do not share those messages outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.

Virginia public records themselves are controlled by the offices that hold them, such as a court, jail, sheriff's office, or the City of Portsmouth FOIA process under Virginia Code Title 2.2, Chapter 37. Requests about those official records must go to the originating office.
